Friday, Sept. 1 and Monday, Sept. 4 have been declared public holidays to mark the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, stated this via a statement signed by Dr Rufai Attahiru, who oversees the Office of the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, and released on Monday.

The minister implored Muslims and all Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for country’s unity.
Dambazau said President Muhammadu Buhari was determined to build a peaceful and virile nation and urged Nigerians to support the All Progressive Congress led-government.
The Minister condemned the prevalence of hate speech while assuring Nigerians of safety in all parts of the country.
