A former Presidential Adviser on National Assembly Matters, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa has blamed Gov. Benedict Ayade of Cross Rivers State for the recent backlash she received in the state.
Recall that some groups under the umbrella of Cross Rivers indigenes staged a protest against Senator Ita-Giwa claiming she was using her position to feather her nest.

Consequently, she alleged that the protest was sponsored by the state government following her allegation that some officials of Cross River State government diverted materials she sourced for from the National Refugee Commission for victims of a fire outbreak in Dayspring Island in Bakassi.
And on Monday at press conference in Lagos, the former Presidential aide said Gov. Ayade was behind the protest against her, saying the governor is fighting her owing to her recent decampment from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
She said, “From my observations, it appears to me that Gov. Ayade feels threatened by my joining the APC for whatever reason. I don’t recall any other former PDP stalwart in the state who decamped to the APC being so persecuted as I am.”
