A messy relationship between gym instructor Dennis Emmanuel and social media feminist Folakemi Martins has exploded into a public war, with accusations of harassment, stalking and marital interference flying between the two.
Emmanuel, who admitted having an affair with the social media feminist Folakemi Martins, took to X to accuse her of refusing to let go after he ended their relationship.
He claimed the affair began on May 9, 2026, after he told Martins that he was married but was looking for a “side chic.”
According to him, Martins knew he had a wife when they started seeing each other and agreed to the arrangement.
But the relationship, he alleged, later became complicated as Martins allegedly demanded more attention and became increasingly persistent.
Emmanuel accused her of contacting him repeatedly and allegedly monitoring both him and his wife on social media.
He also posted screenshots which he said were exchanges between them, including messages in which Martins allegedly questioned why he had rejected the idea of marriage.
Some of the chats also contained explicit discussions about intimacy, with Martins allegedly asking when they would meet again and making other demands.
In another alleged exchange, she complained about having to repeatedly ask Emmanuel for affection, video calls and meetings.
“You have made it clear severally that you want nothing to do with me, but I’m the one that refused to listen, hoping for the best,” she reportedly wrote.
“I have to beg for intimacy, beg to get video call, beg for clarity, beg to meet you, beg for ordinary goodnight and affection.”
Emmanuel said he eventually called off the relationship, citing what he described as Martins’ “aggressive” and “condescending” behaviour.
But he alleged that the break-up did not end the drama.
According to him, Martins continued contacting him while he also accused her and some of her friends of stalking him and his wife online.
At one point, Emmanuel claimed Martins showed up at his residence with unidentified men.
“Fola is at my place now with stranger men banging my doors heavily. I don’t know who they are and I won’t open the door!” he wrote.
Explaining why he made the matter public, Emmanuel said the dispute had gone beyond a private disagreement.
He said the situation was affecting his “reputation, home, wife and family,” prompting him to publicly present his side of the story.
But Martins has rejected key parts of Emmanuel’s account.
She said she never agreed to be his “side chick” and insisted that she was unaware that he was married when their relationship began.
“I never agreed to be a side chick and was never aware of any marriage,” Martins said.
She added that she was gathering evidence and pursuing the matter through legal channels.
“I’m currently working on enough proof and doing everything legally. I know everyone has been trying to get my side, but little proof has been out on X,” she said.
Martins, however, declined to disclose further details, saying she would present her full account when the court permits her to do so.
The explosive revelations have since triggered a wave of reactions on X, with several users questioning Emmanuel’s decision to publicly disclose an affair that involved his marriage.
Some commenters accused him of creating the situation by engaging in an extramarital relationship, while others criticised both parties for turning their private dispute into a public spectacle.
The controversy has continued to generate heated reactions online as both sides present sharply different accounts of how the relationship began, why it ended and what happened afterwards.
