The Torajan people in Indonesia, have a very interesting relationship with the dead, Daily Mail of UK reports.

The report says that they sometimes keep mummified bodies in their homes for weeks or even years before burying them.
It said the villagers from the highlands of South Sulawesi do also dig up the corpses of their loved ones before parading them
around in an annual harvest ritual.
During the festival bodies were pampered with haircuts, new clothes and even cigarettes as the deceased reunited with their living relations.
‘It is our way of respecting the dead. There is no mourning. It is a moment of joy for us because we reunite with our dead relatives,’ the paper quoted a villager as saying.
