Report that the Super Eagles’ players have resolved to boycott training in the light of unpaid bonuses has drawn the denial of one of them.
Kenneth Omeruo, the team’s Vice-Captain rubbished the report in an interview with ESPN saying, “We are focused on our game, believing that our money will be paid. This squad is not the one to fight over money, otherwise, you would have heard that we refused to go to training even before the tournament.”
The defender also pushed back at news that the players have grudge against Ahmed Musa for allegedly not pushing for the bonuses as the team’s captain.
“The report is a joke. Musa showed us at lunch and we laughed about it,” he said.
The Eagles sailed to the semi-final of the ongoing African Nations Cup on Friday by beating Angola a goal to nil.
