Wike made this weighty allegation while speaking in Khana Local Government Area of the state where he led candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to campaign at Babbe, Ken Khana and Nyor Khana districts ahead of the rescheduled national and state assemblies rerun elections on Saturday.
He said the police high command withdrew his Chief Security Officer (CSO) and transferred 500 senior and junior police officers from the state, adding that the plan to kill him has been set in motion.
Wike said those behind the plot have boasted that he would be the first serving governor to be assassinated and that nothing would happen.
