Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State on Sunday handed over a brand new car to the State Commissioner for Finance, Chief Toyin Ojo and the Accountant General of the state, Mrs. Yemisi Owolabi.
Fayose had promised to reward Mr. Ojo and Mrs. Owolabi, who both spent 14 days in the detention of the Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC) following their arrest on September 28th.

Speaking at a thanksgiving service to conclude the celebration of the third anniversary of his government, the governor said he planned to sue the EFCC.
According to him, “these are parents, these are people who have families, they have children and you just locked them up for no just cause. We are going to seek redress.
“Their rights were violated, EFCC did what was wrong and we are going to deal with that in court. People go to court and are compensated for infringement on their rights, as the Chief Executive of Ekiti State, I am bound to compensate them for their illegal arrest and detention for 14 days.
“EFCC has no rights to monitor the finances of a state, it is the House of Assembly that has powers to do that and we will go to court to show the EFCC that whatever rules they are brandishing to harass people are not superior to the constitution of the country.”
