Senator Ali Ndume has laid bare his association with politicians seriously disagreeable to President Bola Tinubu’s reelection.

Comprising of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, ex-governors Nasir El-Rufai and Rotimi Amaechi, a group of politicians desirous of seeing the end of President Tinubu’s administration formed a coalition, and have been shopping for political party on which platform, they would stand in the way of the incumbent’s reelection, come 2027.

On Ndume’s part, the Senator representing Borno South, has remained an irritant to the presidency, constantly pouring invective on the government despite his membership of the ruling party.

Speaking in an interview on Tuesday, the Senator revealed that he has been part of the coalition members’ meetings but undecided on whether to join the group.

“I’m aware of the opposition coalition. I went to several of their meetings. I still believe this president can fix these things, but failure might cause me to move. The overloaded ship will sink,” Ndume said.

Before he added, “They have been making overtures, but I told them I don’t want to jump from the frying pan into the fire. I have to be sure.

“I believe that Tinubu can be a successful president; that was my expectation, but if he continues this way, that ship, whether you load in other people or governors, you are just endangering the APC, pushing it towards capsizing,” he said.

“As the president said, there is a vacancy in the ship. But if you overload the ship, it will probably capsize, and if it capsizes, you lose everybody.”
