Super Falcons forward Esther Okoronkwo has levelled allegation of stealing against Marriott Hotel staff in Casablanca, Morocco, where the team is lodging ahead of Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON 2026.
Okoronkwo made the allegation in a series of Snapchat posts on Saturday in which she said personally the Marriott hotel staff stole $700 from her wallet in her room in her absence.
The 29-year-old said some of her colleagues also suffered same fate putting the money lost to the itchy-finger hotel workers at $1,000.
She named those in the same boat with her as defender Osinachi Ohale, who allegedly lost $100, midfielder Joy Omewa ($120), captain Rasheedat Ajibade ($200), and midfielder Halimatu Ayinde ($100).
“This hotel Marriott in Casablanca just stole about a lot of peoples’ money from their wallet!” Okoronkwo wrote on Snapchat.
“They stole a couple of dollars from my teammate. The cleaning people stole the money. So they waited while we weren’t in the room to clean and steal the money,” she added.
Okoronkwo further alleged that the players were unhappy with the response from the hotel management after reporting the incident.
“We started talking to them and they don’t have answers. They also started being disrespectful,” she said.
