The Senate has removed Senator Ali Ndume as the Chief Whip days after alleging that President Bola Tinubu alienated people with capacity to advise him rightly including ministers.
Ndume had in separate interviews said the country was not in safe hands, saying those in position to give wise counsel to Tinubu are denied access to him.
Days after expressing open discontent with the Presidency, the Senate at Wednesday’s plenary removed the All Progressives Congress chieftain in his capacity as Chief Whip via a voice votes at the instance of Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
Akpabio’s request followed a directive issued to the effect by the National Chairman of the party, Umar Ganduje and National Secretary, Senator Bashir Ajibola.
While the Senator representing Borno South was replaced with Senator Tahir Monguno, he was also asked in the letter to Akpabio to leave the ruling party.
