A Nigerian, Ayo Bakare, has cried out over alleged forceful adoption of his young son, Monisola, by the government of United Kingdom.
Bakare, who is based in Nigeria said Monisola’s journey to alleged forceful adoption started in 2012 when his wife, Shade, travelled on holiday to London with him(Monisola), who was less than a year old then.

Bakare said the holiday took an ugly twist when the little boy had a domestic accident at his paternal aunt’s place where they stayed.
His wife was charged to court over the accident while the government took the custody of Monisola since July 2012 after a Bromley County Court ruled that he was “at the risk of significant harm” for his mother’s failure to notice injuries in his head after the accident.
The judgement upset the Nigerian couple. It allows Monisola’s mother to see her son for only two hours in every 90 days, while the father is allowed to speak to his son on the phone for only 20 minutes in the same period.
Bakare does not see the rationale behind the decision of the court since Monisola is not a UK citizen neither him, the father, adding that the government want to deport his wife to Nigeria without their son.
“I have appealed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a letter dated 17th of August, 2015 to help me in this unfortunate situation I found myself but I am yet to get any response. His siblings at home keep disturbing me almost on a daily basis that they want to see their brother but each time they say they want to talk to their brother, confusion always sets in,” Bakare said.
